Rooftoppers
by Katherine Rundell
Rooftoppers tells the story of Sophie,
an orphan young girl, who flees the
authorities with her guardian Charlie
and heads to Paris
in search of her long lost mother.
During her quest she befriends a boy
who has run away
from a children's home and has made
a living on the rooftops of Paris.

Astro Camp
Ash and Elm class have had the chance
to take part in our own Astro Camp!
During the day they all took part
in astronaut training, all completing
physical, mental and skill challenges.
They also had a chance to test different
materials to compare their suitability
for building spacecraft.
Then, in the evening, they made
constellation cups to project star patterns,
they had a chance to toast marshmallows
over a real campfire and then had a
chance to identify real constellations
looking at the night sky.
They were lucky enough to take a closer
look at the moon, stars and even Jupiter!
After a hot chocolate and a biscuit
the children snuggled down
in their very own tents
and spent the night in school.
What an adventure for them!
Well done Year 5 on some super behaviour
and taking that first step
towards being ready for your week-long
residential in Year 6.
